Since I first thought of what I was going to right about
till now, my perspective, ideas and research question has changed more and more.
At first I just wanted to look at how incivility has changed through years and
why it even starts. Though I still want to look at this in me research paper as
I have looked at more scholarly journals I have seen how incivility anywhere affects
us not just right when we are experiencing but also after. It is found in a lot
of work places and people have found that when people go home incivility still
affects them. It affects the way you think sleep and your stress level. This is
very interesting to me because I feel most people do see how serious incivility
can get. The more incivility you experience the more stress you feel which means
you won’t sleep well, leaving you tired which would put you in a bad mood and
it could ruin relationships with your loved ones. At first I wanted to look at
the solution and what incivility would be like in the future. I have found good
research on what people are trying to do to help stop this issue but when
researching about the future I have found how incivility will affect the
workplaces. When we got to a doctor’s appointment there may not be people there
that truly know what they are doing. As incivility happens people don’t want to
share their knowledge with people which means we can grow as humans. In my research
paper I will organize it by time. I will look how incivility used to be in the
past and compare it to now. Is it different or has it stayed the same? After
that I will look at the solutions and the future of what incivility will look
like.

Incivility Research Topic
I stuck with my original topic and want to talk about
incivility. As time goes on why has incivility seem to have gotten worse and
how does that affect our bodies health wise and just is daily life routines? Is
there any solution to stop or control incivility? This is linked to popular
culture because especially at the time where we are at right now it seems that
incivility has become more popular and more people accept it. More people think
its ok to say whatever they feel without any consequences. What specific
reasons make some people think that incivility is ok? I would look at specific
examples from social media sites and examine why or what started the comment
that were uncivil. Did the people actually have a reason or did they just not
like what was being said. I would also look at special articles that address what
uncivility does to our body and how it affect the way we think and sleep. I have
found a couple articles that did some test and found what incivility actually
does to our health. On ways to stop incivility I would add my own opinion and
also look at certain people and certain sites and they ways they have tried to
stop uncivility or how they are trying to make incivility decrease. I would respond to my research question right
now by saying that over time people have lost manners and people think its ok.
Also it affects our bodies by the way that we think. When we are around
negative things constantly it affect our recovery, stress, and sleep. I still
need to look at factual things that can help my essay become stronger because
even though my research topic is true there are many people that will have
different opinions because it is easy to justify something else about
incivility or just a reason why the world hasn’t gotten worse.

Mew Media Rough Draft
In today’s world it seems that
some people cannot live with their phone, social media site or checking up on
their favorite site.
When looking at facebook
specifically it is very easy to post something. You can do anything within a
couple of seconds. Some people are more outgoing or just annoying when it comes
to facebook. Like me I don’t hardly don ever post a thing but some people post every
hour about what they are doing. When looking at facebook you can see who liked
what picture or who shared what video. You can see almost everything and what
other people doing. The effect of this can lead someone to be more cautious.
Recently I remember seeing a
video that went viral. I didn’t know the girl at all nor was I friends with her
after seeing the video I was somewhat disgusted but after reading comment the
video did even bother me. The video was just of a girl that was recording
herself. In the video she was telling people especially girls that if your boyfriend
hit you then he loves you. Her reasoning was because he is risking his life for
you. If your boyfriend beats or hits you he is risking his life because he
could go to jail. If you have a boyfriend that hits you he is a keeper and you
need to obey him and do what he says. She explained that her boyfriend asked
her to do something and she didn’t do it so he her and then she says that she
now knows she is wrong and should’ve listening to him in the first place. Her
boyfriend gave her a black eye and said she deserved it. Her boyfriend then
took her out to get her hair and makeup done so it made it ok.
Of course after seeing anything
or reading anything everyone will have their different opinion depending on
what they believe in or how they were raised. After watching this video I was
just speechless. Who in there right mind says that this ok? After watching this
video I clicked on the comments and my thoughts of this video changed. Some of
the comments were surprising. There were actually people agreeing with this
girl and some said that their boyfriend beat them and glad they could relate to
someone. This was very sad to me. Then there were more comments thinking how I was
thinking. People said that this girl needed help and that she is crazy. Then
there were these comments that were very simple and just said she only wants
attention.
After reading many comment I felt
the same way. I now felt that this girl was only trying to get attention and he
was sure getting it.
The effects comments on a certain
post or video can change your opinion on anything or lead you to make your own
opinion.
This video had so many views and
controversy that the girl went on DrPhil. He was worried because so many young
girls had seen her video and wanted people to know that this isn’t right. This
also changed people view on this video. He felt that she was trying to get
attention and went over why she would because of her past. When you have
someone that is popular and famous people with agree with you. DrPhil is
credible and people began to listen even if they didn’t before.

American Sniper Analysis Rough Draft
When previews came out for
American sniper there was not one person that I know that didn’t want o see the
movie. It was advertised everywhere. Billboards, TV, and lots of social media
sites. When this movie came out people flocked to the movie theaters to see
this movie.
This movie is based around
his first kills.
I feel this movie had a
bigger target audience then most movies. This movie is rated R so it audience
was for anyone older than 17. Young people can relate to it because maybe they
have been in some type of force or maybe they are starting their life and know
what its life to struggle and start a family and become a husband. Older people
can also relate to this movie because maybe they have to go in to some force
and now they retired. They know what’s its like to not see your family and see
things in war that no one should ever have to see. Even if you haven’t gone to
war people can still relate to this movie because it’s about a family man.
Maybe they know someone that has went to war or they are simply thankful for
the men and women that go and fight every day. This movie is so strong and
powerful that anyone can relate to it in some way and that’s why the target
audience is so big.
There are many Culture
belief values and attitude bedded in this film.
If looking at the movie and
the actual real story that this movie was base off you could find more myths
but if you are looking at just the movie it is hard to find myths because od
what its based off. Although it is based
on a true story doesn’t mean everything in the movie is true. A myth that
someone could point out is just the life of Chris Kyle and his wife as a whole.
For the most part there life seems perfect. Chris Kyle is the perfect man. He
is an example of a women man. He is strong attractive and hard working man that
supports his family. They fall in love at a bar and ten soon get married and
have kids. He goes to war to protect and care for his family. Most men and
women will do this.
This film promotes both
positive values and negative values. It shows the life of a navy seal and lots
of the ups of his life and man of the downs. Positive values are when he finds
the girl of his dreams and get married and has kid. These are all positive
things that happens in people life. Using the positive experiences makes this
film likable.
The American sniper delivers a sense of vivid
tribute to its real life subject. Things like this happen every day.
As you can see this movie
was very powerful and an inspiration to many. It would be hard for someone to say that they
genuinely didn’t like the movie because it is based on a true story and almost
anyone can relate to it in some way.

American Sniper Pleasure and Escape
Prior to watching American sniper in the theaters I saw the
previews many times and I really wanted to see the movie. I am never in to
these kinds of movies so many people were surprised that I wanted to see it. Before
watching this movie my expectations about it were that it was going to be a
good movie about a family and a father that goes to war. I thought it was going
to revolve more around the son then anything. I also heard lots of things
online and my friends and family on how great of a movie it was. Of course this influenced me to want to see it
even more because I trust my friend and families views. I watched this movie
with four of my friends. After watching the movie I had a different outlook on
life. This fulfilled my expectation and so much more. Through this experience I
did find “pleasure and escape.” This movie left me wanting to know more about
what happened to the soldier. Also finding out that it was based on a true
story left me feeling sad. Though it was sad doesn’t mean I didn’t find
pleasure. The purpose of entertainment is to provide pleasure and escape, of
course not everyone will find please and escape in some things but that’s why
there are so many different forms of entertainment.

Internet Tracking and Advertising
People are
in control of their privacy. If they don’t want to give out their information
they don’t have too. Some people may feel it is wrong that the internet is able
to track what you do on the internet but they are doing no harm. They see what
sites you visit then send you coupons or ads to convince you to get something.
This is smart and helpful. Therefore they are able to target individual consumers
more directly. I see this all the time. The other day I was looking at hats and
then I went off the site, when I went to the different site for something else
there was a little ad to the side for hats. This made me think of hats and put
the idea back in my head. I do not see internet tracking in a harmful way but a
positive way. Not all ads but most sell notions of “pleasure” that reflect
harmful stereotypes and they will only continue to do this because it
works. Ads will continue to peruse the idea
that if you by a certain product you will be happier, more fit and more
outgoing. They will give you the idea of something that is not true at all. It
happens all the time because people fall for these ads. For example lots of Pepsi ads convey the message
that if you drink Pepsi you will be happy and you will be skinny. This is wrong
and I feel it would actually do the opposite. When you drink too much soda you
can gain weight and feel sluggish and tired. To connect these two ideas when
you see something you think you want you go out and buy it. If you slide a card
or pay with something other than cash you can’t be 100% sure that your
information is safe but that is taking your own risk. You are in control of everything you do.

Analysis of AT&T Commercial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0FL1AzCAJ8
In the past years AT&T has made many commercials
advertising their service. Most of them have been funny and some are funnier
than others. When they have commercials they often do it in series of a
specific type; for example when they had asked kids a question. They had many
commercial of that type just with different kids and question. Now it is of a certain
girl in the store that always has something funny to say. In particular I am talking about the
commercial about the kids that have funny response that don’t really have to do
much with the original question because they are just kids. In this advertisement
it is of a guy talking to kids and there response to his question. They guy asks
the question “which is better, doing two things at once or just one?” The kids
say two and one of the boys shows how he can do two that at once by shaking his
head and waving is had. To me this is a
very effective commercial because of the cuteness of the kids and this is why
it is likable to so many. Kids are innocent and funny and AT&T uses this to
their advantage to sell their service. The idea behind the commercial using
kids is if kids think a certain thing than it’s obvious to everyone that
AT&T is the service you should use. In this specific commercial the kids
think that two is better than one. The way that the kids relate to this is hilarious
but true at the same time. This makes you
feel like you need AT&T because it obvious to the kids that you should use
AT&T. I don’t feel there is any myth
behind this commercial because it’s not saying if you join A&T you will act
a certain way or be a certain way it simply saying two is better than one in a
kid way.

Conception of Pop Culture
In The Rising of Pop Culture: A Historiographical Sketch Ashby writes "...expanding interest in the experience of common people, as opposed to powerful institutions or individuals." Everyone affects pop culture, not just celebrities or people that play a high role in society. The Ashby also says “were the first medium of entertainment and cultural information to be controlled by men who did not share the ethnic or religious backgrounds of the traditional cultural elites.” This just goes to show it doesn’t matter what your background is and anyone and everyone affects pop culture. Over the last few weeks my view has changed on pop culture. I didn’t think too much in depth about what it really was and who influenced it. Now I realize that anyone can influence pop culture but it isn’t just one or two things that are popular as a nation. Depending on your personal culture, religion, race, ect. there might be something that is popular culture in your community but not to everyone in the world.
